Stanhope is located in north central Iowa in Hamilton County on Iowa Highway 17, thirteen miles south of Webster City. The community of 450 people is home to a locker renowned for its meat processing, and antique shops. It is less than 30 minutes from Ames, home of Iowa State University. Stanhope also has a small campground just off the main street. Stanhope Locker Also seen in the Business Directory, the Stanhope Locker is another must-visit Stanhope destination. The locker processes beef, pork, lamb and deer, and sells retail meats as well. One of the best reasons to visit is to buy its award-winning Beef Jerky and Dried Beef. The locker is open Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to Noon.
